This portal is a research-oriented database environment designed to facilitate access to taxonomic, bibliographic and distributional information on Palaearctic Chrysomeloidea.

Cerambycidae of the Palaearctic Region On-Line provides major new possibilities for working with such a large body of data, and this enhanced search functionality is one of the principal advantages of the portal. Nevertheless, this portal is certainly a powerful and useful tool, offering capabilities far beyond the standard possibilities of a PDF file.

The version presented here is based on the 2026 PDF edition of the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera, reorganised into a searchable database interface for research use.

This PDF edition is the principal source basis of the present portal.

The website, https://entomo.pl/cpc/, is an original database portal developed to make the above materials more accessible through an integrated research interface.

Its purpose is to support efficient exploration of information from multiple perspectives and to provide enhanced possibilities for searching, combining, reviewing and exporting data.

The concept of the portal, database architecture, data integration model, search logic, interface design and user experience were developed by Jacek Kurzawa, who is the author of the concept and the owner of the service.
The author is responsible for process importing data from a PDF file into the database and presenting it in HTML on the website.

The current CPC database is being developed in cooperation with the author of the CPC6 catalogue data, Mikhail Danilevsky, and is based on the author's original source files.

The data are prepared in close collaboration with the author. During the process of transferring the data from catalog.pdf into the database, several hundred minor errors, typos, symbol issues, and similar inconsistencies were identified. As a result, this work has led to a new version of catalog.pdf with improved text quality compared with the previous version dated February 1, 2026.

Although the data have been checked repeatedly and with great care, there is no absolute guarantee that they reflect the contents of catalog.pdf with complete accuracy. Therefore, in individual cases, the data presented on this portal may still differ from the original PDF file because of conversion errors that have not yet been detected. For this reason, in justified and important cases, the data should be verified against the original catalog.pdf.
