To, że metoda odłowu biegaczowatych za pomocą pułapek typu Barbera obciążona jest dużym błędem, wiadomo od bardzo dawna. Ma jednak tę zaletę, że jest bardzo efektywna, tania i łatwa w stosowaniu. Można ją standaryzować, a uzyskiwane wyniki są porównywalne. Istnieje bardzo obszerne piśmiennictwo na ten temat i nie widzę potrzeby tu nad tym dyskutować.
