- Its on a dead bird wing, - for me it was very interesting ( I was thinking all the time, that males of butterflies eat only excrements... )

Blues or some species of Nymphalids, Apaturinae for example, often feed on material that contains mineral salts (in liquid state) - like excrements, bodies of dead animals etc.; they can even sit on human and suck his sweat from the skin

Yes, this I know from Sphecidae wasps - they was drink salt from my hand skin surface - this year in southern Morocco, it was some Crabronini... - protiw gusta ziaden dišputat....

No only males, both sexes of many species suck water from wet soil or rotten fruits and feed on other liquid materials, above mentioned. The diet of moths is most interesting, they prefer... wine in the night time .

This is a real reason why my blood is blue , but wine only red... poor, dry Chianti!
