Przygotowywana jest strona poświęcona dorobkowi Andreasa Kay'a.
https://andreaskay.org

Informacja umieszczona na FB:
Due to interest in how the work of Andreas Kay will be curated I thought this message from Heinz Schneider would be welcomed:

Dear friends and colleagues,

As we all know, Andreas was very diligent. He lived his life very disciplined and over the last 8 years, he was completely focused on the goal of documenting the biodiversity of Ecuador with photos and videos. With that, he wanted to open a door for all of those who do not have immediate access to animals and plants, and he wanted to show them a world they did not know about before.

He succeeded to a high degree. The number of hits on Flickr and Youtube and the countless comments on Facebook speak for themselves. As an individual, he has done more for environmental education than many educational institutions with large budgets.

But that's not all. His excellent macro photography is an invaluable asset to biologists of various backgrounds. For many groups of animals and plants, his pictures are the best one can find. Therefore, it is important that this material is not lost. It may and should continue to be used. This is what Andreas expressly wanted.

During the last four weeks of his life, we tried to find a solution together with him for the long-term safeguarding of his extensive data. The following concept has emerged:

1 Published material

Pictures and videos which are now online on Flickr and Youtube should remain available there. The costs for the Flickr account are covered by his parents.

2 Original data

For the moment, Lou Jost and I have access to the original data. The long-term goal is to find a scientific institution that will take over the data.

3 Website

A documentation and reference page will be set up at andreaskay.org, consisting of:

- An outline of his biography, including a list of areas in Ecuador which he documented photographically

- A gallery page with personal pictures

- Testimonies and memories of friends and colleagues

- A list of his publications

- Documentation of his technique of taking macro photos

- A link list of all web pages containing pictures or videos by him

- An ordered directory of his Flickr albums

- Information about copyright and usage of his photos with a contact address

A few days before his death, Andreas provided personal pictures, a curriculum vitae and various other information for this website. He wrote: "I am very touched by the effort you give me with my life's work, which unfortunately I can no longer continue myself. But at least that's not all in vain. Thank you very much for your help! I like your concept for the long-term backup of my data."

Of course, this website is not finished yet, but there is already a first version which can be seen here: https://andreaskay.org
